When a Community You Trusted Lets You Down
Sometimes the hurt comes from a place you expected to feel safe: a faith community, workplace, school, or professional organization. Perhaps concerns were dismissed, harm was minimized, or belonging depended on staying quiet.
These experiences can leave you questioning your judgment, your values, or whether you can trust yourself again. You may feel anger and grief alongside affection for the people or experiences that mattered to you. Those feelings can exist together.
You don’t have to dismiss what was meaningful to acknowledge what hurt. Healing can begin with having space to name what happened and consider what you need now.

When Trust Is Broken is a four-week, IFS-informed therapy group exploring healing after betrayal by institutions, communities, and systems. Together, we’ll make room for grief, anger, and self-blame while exploring trust, identity, belonging, and values.
The group meets virtually on Wednesdays, October 28–November 18, from 2:00–3:30 p.m. Eastern. The cost is $85 per session, with a four-week commitment.
